Tasting notes: Plum-bramble, brilliant and glittering, this has a rather lovely nose, dark, sweet, red and black fruit to the fore. The palate offers a good concentration of fruit with background coffee notes - a stylish profile which belies its second wine status. A pretty wine, with gentle, rounded tannins, there is an intriguing touch of spice - fresh and easygoing.

The latest addition to the stable Chateau Quintus, created when Chateau Tertre Daugay, the St Emilion property, was purchased last year by the owners of Haut Brion. Renamed Chateau Quintus as it is now the fifth property in the Clarence Dillon estate. Formerly Tertre Dauguy, the changed name under the new owners - the Dillon family - who bought the property in June 2011.
