Mr. Sauterel, the owner of Chateau La Croix-Fourney, Francis Lopez – his cellarmaster for the past 22 years – and consulting oenologist Pascal Poussevin, were together able to create a truly superb wine, Chateau La Croix Fourney, made with grapes from the estate’s two finest plots. The hidden gems were discovered in the small town of Saint-Pey-d’Armens in Saint Emilion in the 18th century. The topmost yield is used to create the signature of the estate and withhold the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru classification.
